Maj. Gen. Edward H. Brooks (1893-1978) August 1942 - March 1944. [See details under 2nd Armored Division.] Brig. Gen. Charles S. Kilburn March 1944 - March 1945. Gen. Kilburn had formerly served as commander of CC A. He retired from the army in 1946. Maj. Gen. Holmes E. Dager (1893-1973) March 1945 - Inactivation. Gen. Dager had earlier served in the 8th Armored Division and commanded CC B of the 4th Armored Division. Gen. Dager died in 1973 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. References: 1.
